Have you ever needed something for somebody, but not really sure what to get them? Somethingstore.com now has your answer! The Something Store sells "something" for $10, shipping included. However, you do not know what that "something" is until you receive it. I heard the report on NPR this morning, and I was hooked! (did I mention I have a spending problem?) I just ordered my $10 something. When I receive it in 7 days, I will post what my something is! Maybe it will be an iPod or a gift card or a remote controlled helicopter! Or maybe it will just be a coffee mug. I know for sure it will not be a body part or unfortunately, prescription drugs. Duct tape wallet or beeswax candle, the mystery and suspense are worth it.

This year, everybody is getting "something" from me for Christmas!

The Many Reasons I Love You

Ok, so I had a major break down yesterday about our lack of gaming equipment. I've been feeling out of the loop for some time now, especially since Beeps has like EVERY gaming system that was ever put out and EVERY game! I was so envious of their Rock Band tours, their traveling to far away planets to fight Storm Troopers and battling other gamers online. However, I think what pushed me over the edge was the new GTA. Years ago I bought Playstation 2 only to be able to play GTA. It was the only game I ever owned for Playstation 2, mostly because I could not afford more games, but I loved this game. So yesterday I started to bug Brent, determined to go to Circuit City last night to buy a Xbox 360 and the new GTA. Here is how our Gmail chat went down yesterday, you can just feel my tenacity. A little background, we had just discussed the day before about buying an A/C window unit for the living room but Brent insisted we did not have the money for it...

me: babe, i want to buy an xbox 360 and get gta, can we splurge for it???? i want that more than an AC unit
(no answer from Brent)
me: well???
(10 minutes later)
Brent: get a raise and we can talk. have you been drinking at work again?
(note: I don't drink at work, just needed to say that)
me: lol, no. come on, it'll be fun.
Brent: why do you want to go on a spending spree?
me: i just want it badly. i really want to play gta. it will be our xmas gift from last xmas since we didn't get the tivo
(we thought we were going to buy tivo last xmas, but we figured out that it did not work well with directv...bastards ruined my xmas)
(no answer from Brent)
me: can we go to best buy?
(8 minutes later, still no answer from Brent)
me: can we? actually it would be circuit city in exton.
Brent: no. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
(at this point I knew I needed to try a new tactic...pity)
me: if we split it, it wont be that bad. we can sacrifice for a little fun. i'm so tired of being out of the loop! and behind the times! we have not bought anything just for us in a long time, if ever!
(then I remembered something we had bought for ourselves)
me: besides the house of course
(D'oh!)
me: come on babe, it is something we will both enjoy
(20 minutes later)
me: ???
Brent: ??????
(I think he is getting irritated at my whining right now, but I don't give up, as a matter of fact it gets worse)
me: can we, pleeeeaasseee??
me: we can get a refurbished one
(I knew I was not buying a refurb, but if that's what it took to get him to the store, then so be it)
me: come on, we can go get it after work along with some wine and play it tonight! you don't have to work tomorrow, so you can stay up all night and play it!! we could also do a circuit city credit card to buy it and pay it off slowly. we can cut up the card right after we buy it.
(I have a problem with credit cards and he is well of aware of this)
me: look they have: "No payments and no interest for 3 months on all purchases $249 & up" we can TOTALLY do that!
Brent: what happened to you today
me: nothing, i just really want it. can we do it, pleeeaasse? i just really want to play gta and eventually get guitar hero. if i can't have A/C then I want xbox. at least I can have something fun to do while I am sweating my ass off this summer.
(I'm trying the anger angle now)
me: well? can we meet at circuit city after work?
Brent: we have to go to the gym first for 15 min at least
(YYEEESSSS!!! but I am so excited, I try to get out of the gym. He said yes, what was I thinking!?!?)
me: but circuit city is on the way
Brent: you want my blessing that is the deal
me: ok!!!
Brent: and I want to watch at least one episode of twin peaks tonight
me: ok

SWEET!! These are some of the many reasons why I love Brent: he puts up with my whining, he understands my need to spend money and also keeps me grounded when I am getting way out of control. Luckily the xBox is something that he also wanted. So just like I expected, he was up until 3am last night playing GTA.

So we are in the loop now people, we got our xBox and our GTA. Next stop, Rock Band! Oh, and Halo3 because that was also one of my ploys to get Brent to allow this purchase. Now I've gotta get back to work so that I can make enough money to pay off our purchase...

*Update: I just received a call from Brent, who is home from work today and suppose to be cleaning up the yard and the house. He called to tell me he might get some work done today but the Xbox is calling his name, so I should not be surprised if nothing is done when I get home.

I think I'm getting "sick" boss...cough, cough...I think I need to go home and get some "rest".

Danger Happened!

Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and that the rain on Saturday didn't ruin it. Well, this weekend was the big weekend for Kaiju Big Battel! On Sunday, JDizz, Beeps, Brent, Dad and two of my nieces, Meg and Kelsie, traveled into Filthadelphia to dodge bullets and watch the awesomest wrestling show EVER! If you are unfamiliar with Kaiju it is like all the Godzilla monsters meet WWF and they are contaminated with radioactive waste. This was my first Kaiju show, but JDizz, Beeps and Dad had seen it a few years ago. (The basic story is that Dr. Cube and his evil posse are trying to take over the world and the Kaiju Hero’s are trying to save it.) So I knew what to expect, and it totally blew my expectations out of the water! I highly recommend you find out when Kaiju is in a town near you, gather your peeps and go root for your favorite villain or hero!

The night started with an opening band called Harry and the Potters. They are my new favorite band, like ever! Three guys jamming about Harry Potter, Hogwarts, Harry’s love for Hermione, Voldemort and much more silliness. They were a whole lot of fun. Here are some pics of them jamming out...

Then it was time for some fighting! Our host, Louden Noxious, introduced each character including the “Official Offical” Referee Jingi, and gave a little back story of each of the fighters . Then it was FIGHTO!!! FIGHTO 1: A revenge fight of Pedro Plantain vs The Grudyin (a feral beast type creature). You see, last year Pedro’s brother, Pablo, was murdered by Dr. Cube and turned into a zombie! So it was time for pay back!
Then zombie Pablo made an appearance to assist his dear brother Pedro!

FIGHTO 2: Sun Buster vs Vegetius (giant bird turtle), the Kaiju commissioner arranged this special exhibition match so that Sun Buster can prove his worth to the Hero’s as Steam Powered Tentacle Boulder observed from the ringside.

After FIGHTO 2, Dr Cube came out and extinguished Steam Powered Tentacle Boulders fury by throwing a cup of water in his furnance! FIGHTO 3: Hero Intern’08 vs Tucor (half-toucan, half-gerbil abomination) with Dusto Bunny ringside cheering on Intern.

FIGHTO 4: Chris Hero (the human wrestler, I think a play on Chris Jerico from WWF) vs American Beetle. Chris Hero HATES monsters, good, evil or rogue.

FIGHTO 5: Kaiju Grand Championship Match of Neo Teppen vs Uchu Chu (Space Bug)

Uchu Chu won the Championship as seen here being carried around the ring by the Swarm.
